MG Comet EV is being sold in three variants – Pace, Play and Plush. Their new prices are Rs 6.99 lakh, Rs 7.88 lakh and Rs 8.58 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The price of entry level variant Pace has been reduced by Rs 99,000, bringing its price down from Rs 7.98 lakh to Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, Comet EV has now become the cheapest electric car in the country. The prices of mid-level Play Air top level Plush trim have been reduced by Rs 1.40 lakh. The price of the Play trim has now come down to ₹7.88 lakh (ex-showroom) from ₹9.28 lakh (ex-showroom), while the price of the Plush trim has come down to ₹8.58 lakh (ex-showroom) from ₹9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Range is 230 kilometers
Comet EV is an electric car based on China’s Wuling EV which comes with many advanced features and tremendous range as per its price. Comet EV is equipped with 17.3kWh battery pack. This car gives an ARAI certified drive range of 230 kilometers when the battery is fully charged. The company has used a rear-axle-mounted electric motor in it which gives peak power of 42 bhp and torque of 110 Nm.
The system of this electric car supports 3.3kW AC charging, which takes 7 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent. It takes only 5 hours to charge it from 10-80 percent. The company claims that the cost of running it for a month is only Rs 500.

This entry-level electric car of MG is city-centric. It has been designed compactly to drive in city traffic. Despite being quite compact in size, it has seating space for 4 people. The length of the car is less than 3 meters and its turning radius is only 4.2 meters.
Talking about the features, it also includes 10.25-inch screen setup, manual AC, steering-mounted controls and connected car technology for navigation. In terms of safety, this car has features like dual front airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking camera with dynamic guidelines and rear parking sensor. The company is offering it in four attractive exterior colors. Comet EV competes with Tata Tiago EV in the Indian market.
