Ariana is totally convincing when she says, “You’re not bloated. You’re filled with (it).” Now natural fiber in your diet is definitely the first set of things to consider, but she suggests psyllium, which forms a gel in your gut that flushes out old stool, estrogen, and even heavy metals like lead. It prevents estrogen from being reabsorbed, helps your body detoxify daily, and keeps you full for longer.

Fennel and Milk Thistle Tea

Ariana elaborates that fennel is an antispasmodic. This means that it relaxes the smooth muscles of your intestine so gas does not form and you do not feel so uncomfortable after meals. Milk thistle, on the other hand, supports liver detox, helping to clear estrogen, alcohol, and synthetic chemicals.

“People who are stressed are usually the most constipated,” says Ariana. And it’s on fact. And on the scientific front, meditation activates your vagus nerve which turns on the body’s rest and digest mode, allowing your gut to actually absorb nutrients as well as properly eliminate what’s needed. Meditation also increases vagal tone which improves digestion and reduces gut inflammation over time.

Collagen may be marketed extensively for skin and nails, but it’s really just as effective when it comes to repairing the gut lining. Ariana explains how the amino acids glycine and proline I collagen help rebuild the gut wall, reduce inflammation and help with bile production so the food you eat can actually be digested without hiccups.

Now this is the “OG bloat hack,” according to Ariana. Most people do not have enough stomach acid to digest food. Apple cider vinegar triggers acid production, signaling digestive enzymes and improving the way your stomach empties, so food doesn’t just sit there and ferment. All you need to do is mix a tablespoon of it in water before your meal.

95 percent of the serotonin in your body is produced in the gut. So when your gut microbiome gets thrown off, everything else gets thrown off too. Probiotics help balance the microbiome by repopulating the good bacteria in the gut that soothe inflammation, improve the immune system and help digest food properly.

Walking

This is what Ariana calls your digestion being “on switch.” Walking activates the migrating motor complex, which is a wave that clears old food and gas from your small intestine.
