Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Saturday interrogated the Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) that he was rejected earlier on his decision to allow him to go to America, when an application for the same was rejected earlier.
In a detailed post on X, Kharge said that the ministry had taken a ‘U-turn’ and sought clarification for the same.
The Karnataka Minister highlighted that he sought permission for his American visit to represent the Karnataka government on two major global forums on 14 to 27 June on 14 to 27 June and held 25 official meetings with pitch for cooperation and investment with top companies, universities and institutions.
He said that the application for the minister and his delegation was submitted on 15 May, which was later rejected on 4 June. Kharge said that an application for an officer delegation without a minister was submitted on 6 June and was approved on 11 June.
‘The application was rejected without any reason’
The minister said that his application was rejected without any reason or any official clarification. He also said that the application of the Chairman of Conix, which was submitted on May 12, was approved on 14 May.
The Karnataka Minister said that he addressed a press conference on the matter on June 19, explaining the chronology and increased concerns about possible political intervention.
Following the MEA decision to approve Kharge for a visit to America, he asked why his application was rejected in the first example. Kharge said whether Mea quashed his previous order for any kind of accountability after being “public”.
He also said that Mea issued a ‘no objection’ certificate on June 19. “36 days after my original application, 15 days after the official refusal and 5 days after my scheduled departure, they” cancels “their previous decision, Kharge wrote on his post on X.
Kharge raised the question
“Time raises serious questions: Why was the evacuation rejected in the first place? Was the previous order canceled to avoid accountability after the matter became public? What does it mean to approve after the end of the major events or completion? Does now refrain from telling me the original decision?” Kharge asked on X.
Criticizing the Central Government, Kharge said that when they see “Make in India”, “Digital India” and “India AI Mission”, ministers like him are blocked by the government to “work”.
“While the Center gives us slogans like” Make in India, “” Digital India “,” National Quantum Mission “and” India AI Mission “, the real work is being done here in Karnataka to feel these aspirations. They give a coin to vision, but when we work to make investments, make jobs and make India a global leader, they block us.
“The Prime Minister once said: Mug + Maga = Mega. But what does it mean even in practice, when India’s technology and innovation engines are deprived of the support necessary to lead the engine world globally?
