Apple took a big step forward in performance with its iPhone 17 Pro series earlier this year. The company had introduced vapor cooling system i.e. liquid cooling technology for the first time in the iPhone. With the help of this new system, the temperature of the phone is better controlled, which reduces problems like heating and thermal throttling, especially during heavy processing like gaming or video editing.
Preparation of new cooling technology in iPad Pro
However, vapor cooling chambers are already being used by many Android brands, especially in the flagship phones of Chinese companies. But for Apple, this new technology has become a big attraction for its premium users to upgrade.
Till now, the larger surface area of the iPad helped dissipate heat, but according to reports, the iPad Pro sometimes overheats during high-performance tasks (like video editing or AI applications). Keeping this in mind, Apple is now going to include vapor cooling system in its next version.
When might the new iPad Pro arrive?
The company has recently launched iPad Pro with M5 chip, which Apple has described as as powerful as Mac Studio M1 Ultra. But reports say that the next iPad Pro may launch in Spring 2027, as the update cycle for the iPad Pro series is around 18 months.
The new model can come with M6 processor, which will be based on TSMC’s 2nm chip technology. This will improve both the performance and power efficiency of the device.
New system may also come in MacBook Air
If everything goes as per plan, Apple may also add the same cooling system to its fan-less MacBook Air in the future.
It is also worth noting that some 14-inch MacBook Pro users have noted that the new M5 chip is not able to work at full capacity due to heating. In such a situation, vapor cooling system can become the solution to this problem.
