New Delhi. Delhi Cabinet on Friday (March 15) approved to extend the state’s Electric Vehicle Policy (EV Policy) till June this year. The Delhi government said in a statement that all existing incentives and subsidies will remain intact and any electric vehicle purchased from January 1 will be eligible for benefits under this extension.
According to the statement, the Delhi EV Policy has been extended till June 30 or till the notification of Delhi EV Policy 2.0, whichever is earlier. The decision to pursue the EV policy was taken in the cabinet meeting on Friday.
Delhi Cabinet under the leadership of Honorable Chief Minister Shri @ArvindKejriwal has extended the Delhi EV Policy 2020 till 30.06.2024 or notification of Delhi EV Policy 2.0, whichever is earlier.

EV Policy 2.0 is being prepared
Let us tell you that the Delhi Government had issued the notification of EV policy on 7 August 2020 for a period of 3 years, which was later extended till 31 December 2023. Delhi government is working on preparing EV Policy 2.0.

Central government approves electric vehicle policy
Recently, the central government on Friday (March 15) approved the EV policy to promote India as a manufacturing destination, which will allow companies to set up manufacturing units in the country with a minimum investment of $500 million (Rs 4,150 crore). Companies will be given concessions in fees. The Commerce and Industry Minister said in an official statement that through the EV policy, an effort has been made to promote India as a manufacturing destination for EVs and attract investment from various global EV manufacturers including Tesla.
