Britain’s disgraced former Prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, brother of King Charles III, has failed to respond to US lawmakers’ request for an interview about his friendship with the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
On October 30, the king stripped Andrew of his titles and evicted him from the royal residence over his relationship with Epstein.
“The well-documented allegations against you, as well as your long-term friendship with Epstein, indicate that you may have knowledge of his activities related to our investigation,” said a letter signed by sixteen Democratic Party members of Congress.
Lawmakers had asked Andrew to participate in a ‘transcribed interview’ with the House of Representatives oversight committee investigating Epstein and to respond by November 20.
However, Andrew has not responded yet.
“Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s silence in the face of the Oversight Democrats’ demand for testimony speaks volumes,” AFP said, citing a statement from two members of that committee – Robert Garcia and Suhas Subramanian.
Garcia and Subramanian said the committee’s work to understand the extent of Epstein’s network will proceed with or without testimony from Andrew, 65.
“We will hold accountable anyone involved in these crimes, regardless of their wealth, position or political party. We will bring survivors to justice,” he said.
In 2019, Andrew famously resigned from royal duties following his interview with BBC Newsnight, in which he denied meeting Virginia Giuffre, the chief accuser of American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Giuffre’s tragic suicide in April at her home in Australia and explosive revelations in her posthumous memoir ‘Nobody’s Girl’ sparked a flood of outrage and ultimately forced the palace to take significant action.
Andrew has always denied the allegations.
Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump signed legislation forcing the Justice Department to release files on Epstein.
In a post on Twitter, Trump said the measure would help expose some Democrats and the truth about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
