Alana Pandey is promoting her new show The Tribe with an interesting strategy. The influencer, who is actor Chunky Panday’s niece and actor Ananya Panday’s cousin, took to Instagram on Monday to share a video clip from the show. It shows her family gathered together for a conversation when her father Chikki Pandey says something.
Forgot her top?
Chick, after pondering Alana’s outfit for a while, asks her, “By any chance, did you forget to wear your top?” Alana is surprised to hear his words. She is wearing a mint green bralette and white pants. “Are you serious,” she asks, as her mother Deanne Pandey puts his arms around her. “What’s wrong with that,” she asks her father. He suggested that it needed a shirt.
“This is not LA. This is Bandra,” he says as the family breaks in on their exchange. When she explains to him that it’s a bralette, he says that ‘the bra needs to be covered.’
Fans reaction:
Alanna’s followers were divided in their reactions. While many thought it was a sweet exchange between a father and his daughter, others suggested that Alana should have dressed more modestly. “His father is absolutely right, at least one should know how to get up and sit in the family. One person wrote, what does this want to show. Others told him that desi dads roam around houses ‘topless’ all the time.
A fan defended her and said, “Everyone is morally monitoring what Dr. Moumita wore? Absolutely! It’s definitely not a top, more like a bralette. Her father is right that every woman in India does not usually wear it in front of her family, but wearing it is not a bad thing as some people in this comment section shaming her for it is unnecessary…”
“Dad woke up and chose destruction,” one fan commented. “Uncle is underestimating Bandra,” joked another fan.
Tribe also includes digital evangelist investor Hardik Javeri along with Alavia Jaffrey, Srishti Pore, Aryana Gandhi and Alfia Jaffrey. A Dharmatic Entertainment production and executive-produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Anisha Baig, ‘The Tribe’ offers an unfiltered look at Indian influencers capturing the spotlight in Los Angeles.
