AIIMS NORCET: The institute said the decision has been taken due to pending distribution of reserved seats in various categories in some institutes.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi has canceled the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET 09) provisional seat allotment result declared on November 3, 2025. This decision was taken due to the pending distribution of reserved seats in various categories in some institutions. AIIMS has announced that the revised seat allotment result will be published soon.
The official notice read, “The result of provisional seat allotment for NORCET-09, published vide Notice No. 241/2025 dated 03.11.2025, has been withdrawn in view of the pending updated distribution of reserved seats in various categories in some institutes. The revised allotment result will be published within a week. Accordingly, the process of acceptance has also been withdrawn. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”
In the final results released in October, a total of 13,996 candidates qualified the main examination, including 4,253 male candidates and 9,743 female candidates. AIIMS NORCET 9 Stage 2 exam was held on September 27, 2025 and the result was released on October 3. The Phase 1 exam was held on 14 September and the results were released on 18 September.
The examination is conducted by all AIIMS, VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, (JIPMER) Puducherry and Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), New Delhi, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, (RIMS) Imphal, National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (NITRD) New Delhi, All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, (AIIPMR), Mumbai and is conducted for recruitment to the post of Nursing Officer for Central Institute of India. Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi.
The official notice states that in case of selection for any advertised post, the place of posting will be determined by the concerned AIIMS as per the rules in force. Candidates who clear NORCET can be promoted from Grade-II to Grade-I and can move on to roles like Assistant Nursing Superintendent, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, Nursing Superintendent and ultimately Chief Nursing Officer.
