1. Stress on the toilet or not

Spending more than 10 minutes by sitting and pushing can increase the risk of hemorrhoids. 1 out of 20 American adults develop them. If the fiber is not enough, pelvic floor therapy may help.

2. Know what is “normal” for you

Healthy bowel habits may be three times a week (ROM IV criteria). The key is comfort, not strict frequency.

3. Go easy to pain reliever

Constant use of NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, neproque, or aspirin can increase the risk of GI bleeding up to four times and can damage the lining of the intestine. If you often need them, ask your doctor about safe options.
