Cricket star Virat Kohli has posted a sweet note on Instagram appreciating wife Anushka Sharma. A day after Team India lifted the T20 World Cup trophy, Virat made sure to give Anushka the credit she deserves for always being there for him.
In his post, he wrote, “My love, none of this would have been possible without you. You keep me humble, grounded and always tell me how it is with total honesty. I am as grateful to you as you are to me. Thank you and I love you @anushkasharma.”
Anushka’s message for Virat
Anushka Sharma also penned an emotional post for Virat Kohli after India’s second T20 World Cup triumph since 2007, calling the star batsman “my homie”.
Kohli, who was part of the 2011 ODI World Cup triumph, scored his first half-century of the tournament in the final against South Africa on Saturday – a 59-ball 76 with six fours and two sixes to help India post a competitive 176 for seven.
He also announced his retirement from Twenty20 Internationals after leading the Indian team to their second T20 World Cup win and being named Man of the Match in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Sharma, who watched the match on TV, shared the post on Instagram soon after the team emerged victorious in the thrilling final.
“And… I love this man @viratkohli. So grateful to call you home – now grab me a glass of sparkling water to celebrate,” she captioned a photo of Kohli holding the trophy.
Vamika’s cute question
In a separate post, the actor – who also has daughter Vamika (three) and four-month-old son Akay with the cricketer – congratulated Team India for this remarkable achievement.
Anushka wrote, “Our daughter’s biggest concern was whether there was someone to hug all the players as she saw them crying on TV…. Yes my dears, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people. What a great win and what a tremendous achievement!! Champions – congratulations!!”
The celebrity couple got married in 2017 after dating for several years.
