Miss Grand Myanmar was left sad when India’s Rachel Gupta won the Miss Grand International crown in her place. Now he has issued a statement.
Miss Grand Myanmar has shared an official statement following her public outburst on the Miss Grand International stage. Miss Grand International second runner-up Thae Su Nyein shared her thoughts on the result during a Facebook live stream.

‘I am not under anyone’s control’
Su Nyen declared on Facebook Live that no one controls her, and that she does not agree with the results because she deserved the Miss Grand International crown, which was won by India’s Rachel Gupta. Su Nyen said, “I am not controlled by anyone. I just take my decision. I return my second runner-up crown just because we didn’t get it. What we deserve, I mean it is our National Outfit Award, our Country Power of the Year, not the winner’s crown [sic],
The 18-year-old said she loves her fellow contestants; However, she will not accept the results. “I am not blaming my sisters. I love India, I love the Philippines. They are the best sisters I have ever had. I don’t blame them. I am just saying our national costume award and the power figure of our country, not the crown of the winner. I’m not taking it,” she said. “I came to win first place and I believe I deserved a higher place.”
Miss Grand International president calls Thae Su Nyen confused
Following the dramatic events, Miss Grand International President Nawat Itaragrisil officially acknowledged Miss Grand Myanmar’s decision to relinquish the crown to the second runner-up, calling her ‘delusional’. “What makes him so confused,” Nawat said at a press conference, according to Thai daily Khaosod English. If she wants first place and must get it, I suggest she create her own competition so she can win every title.
He concluded, “Someone like you should not participate in anything competitive or challenging others. You must live in your imaginary, imaginary virtual world. End of story!”
