This movement was started by a youth organization called ‘Genz 212’. This organization is adding youth on online platforms like Tiktok, Instagram and Discord. In the last one week, members of its online group increased from 3,000 to 1.3 lakh. The organization says that their fight is with the government, not the security forces. Violence spread to many cities on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
Police station set fire
In Sale near the capital Rabat, the youth threw stones at the police, set fire to shops and banks. Similar violence was seen in cities like Tangier, Injane and Ojda. Government offices and shops were targeted at Sidi Bibi and Biogra near Agadir.
