Indian Air Force has released the notification for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 02/2024. The online application process for 304 vacancies in flying branch and ground duty branches will start from May 30, which includes both technical and non-technical roles. Interested and eligible candidates can apply at afcat.cdac.in. The last date to apply is June 28. The examination is usually conducted in February and June. While applying for IAF AFCAT 02/2024 exam candidates have to pay the exam fee of Rs 550.
AFCAT 02/2024 Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria
Educational qualification
Flying Branch: To join the flying branch of the Air Force, it is necessary to pass 12th class with at least 50 percent marks. He must have studied Physics and Maths subjects in 12th. After this, candidates must have passed graduation in any discipline with 60 percent marks or B.Tech with at least 60 percent marks.
Ground Duty: Must have passed 12th with Physics and Mathematics subjects with at least 50 percent marks. Must be a graduate with at least 60 percent marks in Engineering or Technology.
Age Range: For flying branch, the age of the candidates should be between 20 to 24 years and for ground duty, the age of the candidates should be between 20 to 26 years.
AFCAT 02/2024 Recruitment: Selection Process
The selection process includes a written examination, an Air Force Selection Board or AFSB interview examination, and a medical examination. AFCAT written exam is of 300 marks. A total of 100 questions are asked in the two-hour exam. These questions are asked in various subjects like General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. All questions are objective type and in English. There is also negative marking in the exam and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates who successfully qualify the AFCAT 2 exam will be eligible for the courses starting from July 2025. They will also be granted Short Service Commission (SSC).
