Actor Aamir Khan’s ex-wife, filmmaker and producer Kiran Rao often shares updates and pictures related to her life and travels on her social media. Kiran took to her Instagram account on Wednesday and shared adorable pictures with her son Azad Rao Khan, highlighting how tall he has grown over the years, so much so that he is taller than her.
Kiran’s post
In the first picture taken recently, Azad was seen standing near Kiran and trying to smooth her hair to prove that he was taller than her. In the second picture taken a few years ago, Azad was seen smiling and shorter than his mother. In the caption, Kiran wrote, “Okay, I admit Azad is *slightly* taller than me now. He didn’t need to straighten my hair to prove it. 🙄✅ The second pic is from a few years ago – thanks to @hinabi for remembering…”
When actor Poorna Jagannathan asked in the comments section, “Overnight, okay?” Kiran replied, “Yes 😳 I need to stop obsessively looking at baby pictures.”
Huma Qureshi, Anaita Shroff Adajania, Tisca Chopra, Sona Mahapatra and Onir commented on the post with red heart emoticons.
On co-parenting free
Azad was born in 2011. Kiran and Aamir Khan married in 2005 and separated in 2021. They continue to co-parent their son Azad.
During Kareena Kapoor’s talk show, What Women Want, Kiran Rao talked about co-parenting Azad with Aamir after their separation. She added, “Now, it’s a lot easier, and Aamir is more involved. Luckily, right now, we’re up and down, but whenever we move, we won’t go away. Azad is enjoying his time with his dad more as he’s grown up now. It’s gotten to a place where it’s really good. I think I can relax and leave Azad with Aamir. Only, Aamir doesn’t know anything about school. I think That’s the problem with most fathers – they always say, ‘Don’t involve us in school-related activities, we’ll take care of other things.’
Talking about the work front, Kiran’s film Lapata Ladies was released in theaters last year. The film stars Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles. It received widespread critical acclaim upon release, and can now be viewed on Netflix.
