Gorakhpur / Rajat Bhatt: Yoga Guru Paramahansa Yogananda in Gorakhpur (Yoga Guru Paramahansa Yogananda) The plan to develop the birthplace of ‘Mukund Lal Ghosh’ as a tourist destination will be implemented soon. In this regard, the state cabinet has agreed to provide the land of the house where Yogananda was living in Muktipur, Askarganj, free of cost. A tourist spot will be developed here soon by the Tourism Department. The items related to Yogananda will be kept safe as heritage. A total of about 50 crore rupees will be spent for this. The Tourism Department has already received the first installment of Rs 19 crore.
A tourist spot will soon be built by the department at the birthplace of Paramahamsa Yogananda. In December 2023, the administration team has also prepared a proposal for the survey of the house where Paramahamsa Yogananda was born on 5 January 1893, located next to the Nakhas Chowk police station in the city. Now a tourist spot will soon be built by the tourism department at this place. Yogananda’s father Bhagwati Charan Ghosh used to work in the railways. He used to live with his entire family on rent in the house of Sheikh Abdul Rahimpur Achhan Babu. The government had approved this entire tourist spot in March itself. At the same time, the first installment of Rs 19 crore has also been released.
Khadau, Rudraksha will be present in the museum
Paramahamsa Yogananda’s belongings are present in the room where he lived. The place where the tourist spot will be built by the tourism department will also have a museum. Items related to him will be kept in it. Khadaun, Rudraksha, garlands, lamps and his book will be preserved here. Shekhu, who lives in the house, says that even today many belongings of Paramahamsa Yogananda are present in the house. Everyone here loves and cares for him a lot. DM Krishna Congress said that the registration process of the house where Yogananda lived will be completed soon. Also, after the completion of the work, the work of developing it as a tourist area will be started and a tourist spot will be made.
