Additional body weight may increase some cancer risk, wondering major researchers whether blockbuster drugs such as vagavi, ozmpic and zipbound may play a role in the prevention of cancer.
Now, a study of 170,000 patient records shows that American adults with diabetes have a slightly less risk of obesity related cancer, who took these popular drugs compared to those who took another class of diabetes drug, which was not associated with weight loss.

GLP-1 receptor agonists are injections used to treat diabetes, and some are also approved to treat obesity. They work by mimicking hormones in the intestine and brain to regulate feelings of hunger and maturation. In the study, researchers analyzed data of 43 US health systems to compare two groups: people with obesity and diabetes who took GLP -1 drugs and others under the same circumstances that took diabetes drugs such as Sitagliptin. Both groups were similar in size and were matched for other characteristics.
After four years, those who took GLP-1 drugs had a 7% less risk of developing obesity related cancer and for any reason there was 8% less risk of death, compared to other types of diabetic drugs. The GLP-1 group had 2,501 new cases of obesity related to obesity compared to 2,671 cases in the second group.
The effect was clear in women, but not statistically important in men. The study could not explain that difference, but Mavrromatis stated that blood concentration, weight loss, metabolism or difference in hormone may occur in sports.
