Officials are searching for three persons who were in a small private aircraft who crashed into the sea from the middle California coast.
The local station KSBW-TV reported that emergency respondents were alerted after receiving radar loss signals and 911 calls from the residents concerned near Pacific Grove. The witnesses heard a loud aircraft engine and told that after a splash in the water.
Flight details
The aircraft, a beach 95-B55 Baron Twin-Inzon Aircraft, departed from San Carlos Airport at 10:11 pm. According to flight tracking site flightAware.com, it was last discovered near Montere at 10:37 pm
Searching effort
A coordinated search attempt was initiated which included the US Coast Guard, the Forestry and Fire Safety Department of California and the local emergency services. The accident is believed to have occurred at a distance of about 183 to 274 meters from the Pacific Grove Noise.
The debris is believed to have allegedly washed ash by the aircraft, although the survivors have not yet confirmed any confirmation.
The National Transport Safety Board (NTSB) will initiate an investigation into the accident. The identity of those people has not been released on the board yet.
