Sometimes all it takes is one emotional connection to change a life. For Angel, a one-month-old indie puppy rescued from the streets of Noida’s Sector 63, this bond came about in the most beautiful way as this boy got his Christmas gift early: a forever family!
Earlier this month, Angel’s adoption appeal appeared in HT City and caught the attention of many people reading the morning newspaper that day. Among them was Dr. Piyush Sharma, who stopped after seeing the picture of the little puppy, because some of it was clicked immediately. Dr. Sharma shares with us: “We get HT City at home and reading it before going to my clinic is a daily routine for me… Last weekend I came across the Adopt a Pet column and Angel’s appeal really caught my attention. When I raised the idea of adopting him, everyone at home got as excited as me because of how innocent and cute he looked.”
With his heart already set, Dr Sharma traveled from Krishna Nagar to Noida with his elderly mother and son to bring Angel home. Angel was then under the care of Ankita Goyal – a volunteer rescuer and feeder who was overjoyed to see the puppy find the family he deserved. “Angel is one of the sweetest and most adorable puppies I have rescued, and I really wanted him to find a worthy home,” says Ankita, “I reached out to HT City because Callum has great access and it worked so fast that I was honestly surprised.” The appeal came out on Friday, and the adoption request came the very next day. It is very encouraging to see initiatives like this connecting like-minded animal lovers so seamlessly.
And angels? Well, the champion has wasted no time in winning hearts and kisses! It has been only a few days since he joined the Sharma family and since then this little boy has settled well in the house, as if he has always been there. “He is very playful and full of puppy energy,” explains Dr. Sharma, adding with a smile: “It was clear that he was craving warmth, and we are glad that we have been able to give that to him as a family. He is now the baby of the house and has changed the entire mood of the house for the better with his happiness.”
