New Delhi: Regarding the film ‘Tangalan’, producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja said that this film is heavily influenced by mythology and our intention was to do something different. Regarding the genre of the film, the producer said, “With ‘Tangalan’, our intention was to explore something new by creating a sub-genre of ‘mystical realism’. This film is heavily influenced by mythology. We have combined these elements with a real story to create something that the audience can connect with deeply. This is a new attempt for us. The audience has not experienced anything like this before. Who could be better than Pa Ranjit and Vikram to lead this experiment. They are experts in pushing the boundaries and constantly presenting something new.
‘Tangalan’ is based on a true story, woven with mystical elements from our mythology. The film stars Chiyaan Vikram in the roles of ‘Tangalan’ Muni, Kadaiyan, ‘Tangalan’s’ great grandfather, Arasan “Aran”, Adi Muni and Naga Muni. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, who plays Aarti. Directed by Pa. Ranjith, ‘Thangalan’ was released on August 15 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film’s music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
Chiyaan Vikram has played the lead role
Vikram has worked in Tamil and Malayalam films. Vikram was included in the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list for 2016 and 2018, based on the earnings of Indian celebrities. Vikram made his debut in 1990 with the romantic film “En Kadhal Kanmani”.
