According to IGI Airport Police Deputy Commissioner Usha Ranganani, one year passed in no time and her student visa also expired. After which, he neither deposited his college fees nor got his student visa extended and started living there illegally. DCP Usha Ranganani said that in 2020, Thomas Masih applied to renew the asylum certificate, but this time his certificate could not be renewed. After the asylum certificate renewal application was rejected, Thomas Masih knew that now he could be deported to India at any time. DCP Usha Ranganani told that a new plan was ready for Thomas and Thomas Masih to avoid blacklisting and arrest.
