Subhash Singh, popularly known as Steel Man in Delhi Police, has recently won his 35th marathon in Mumbai. He secured first position by covering a distance of 21 km in 1 hour 27 minutes, while completing the distance of 1 km in about 4 minutes.
“Since 2015, I have participated in around 55 marathons across the country and have achieved 35th position on the podium. “I won gold medals at the National Master Athletics Championships in 2017 and 2022,” says Singh.
Singh is from a small village in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. He joined the Indian Army in 1989 and after 18 years of service in the Rajputana Rifles, he took voluntary retirement and joined the Delhi Police in 2007.
“In 2015, I participated in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon for the first time. Since then, I have participated in around 55 marathons,” says Singh, who recently joined the Delhi Police Academy and as a marathon coach he trains Delhi Police constables and sub-inspectors at the academy. Are. Sharing his fitness regime, he says, “I run between 10-21 km every day. My routine includes running, stretching, strength training and endurance training. I also follow a disciplined diet.
