Apple has reduced bank cashback on iPhone 17 Series from ₹6,000 to ₹1,000. Due to acute shortage of iPhone 17 in India, increasing demand and global supply-chain problems, the prices have effectively increased. Know why there is stock shortage, Apple’s strategy and whether the situation can improve by December.
iPhone 17 Pro is available at an expensive price.Apple has suddenly reduced the bank cashback available on its new iPhone 17 Series. Where earlier customers used to get cashback up to about ₹ 6,000, now it has come down to just ₹ 1,000. Due to this, buying iPhone 17 will prove to be more expensive than before for Indian customers. This change is expected to be implemented from 22nd November i.e. today.
Not only this, there are also going to be changes in the zero-cost EMI option, due to which buyers will not get the same direct benefits as before.
Why was cashback reduced?
According to reports, Apple is currently facing a major supply-chain problem. Demand for iPhone 17 has increased worldwide but supply is limited. Due to big festivals like Thanksgiving sale in America and Lunar New Year in China, Apple is now giving more priority to these markets.
Due to this, the iPhone 17 Base Model, especially the 256GB and 512GB variants, are out of stock almost everywhere in India. This model is either not available or available in very less quantity on Flipkart, Amazon and many offline stores.
Situation may improve by December
According to retailers, some additional supply was received before Diwali, but after that Apple started giving priority to other countries. Many shops say that they have received only 60% of the units compared to the iPhone 16 series this year.
Some retailers are even saying that their daily demand is 10-20 units, but they are getting only 6-7 units in a week.
Apple CEO Tim Cook also recently said that the company is in trouble due to short supply of many models and cannot tell when the supply will stabilize.
