Google has introduced a new AI Mode button in the Chrome browser of iPhone and iPad. Now users can ask complex questions directly with the help of Gemini AI and experience smart search.
An update has arrived for Google Chrome.Google is making its Chrome browser even smarter for iPhone and iPad users. The company has recently introduced an ‘AI Mode’ button, which brings the functionality of the mobile browser at par with the desktop version. This new button appears directly below the Google search bar, and is located near the Incognito Mode icon. This means users no longer need to dig deep into Settings to access Google’s advanced AI features.
The AI Mode button gives users direct access to Chrome’s Gemini-powered AI search tool. Through this, users can ask complex and interactive questions, which is not possible in normal search. The Gemini tool can understand multi-part questions, recognize their context, and provide new information based on previous answers.
This means that this feature is very useful for research, travel planning or solving technical problems. For example, after asking a question, you can ask a follow-up question to further clarify the results.
According to Google, this feature is designed to reduce the distance between search and conversation. AI Mode uses on-device and cloud-based AI capabilities on smartphones to provide answers quickly and effectively. Integrating Gemini into Chrome is part of Google’s broader strategy, which also includes incorporating generative AI tools into Gmail, Docs, and the Android operating system.
Currently, the AI Mode button is being rolled out to iPhone, iPad, and Android users in the United States. This feature will be available in other countries in the coming weeks. Google has said that before global expansion, it is focusing on further improving the experience and making it secure according to local data policies.
