Mumbai, Debutante Director Suhrita Das Said She Was Inspired by Acclaimed Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s 1998 semi-autobiography-autobiographical film “janam” for her debut feature film, “Tu Meri Pori Kahani ”.
Released on Friday, “Tu Meri Garib Kahni” follows the story of the fame and success of a young star and how it leads to emptiness until the true love teaches the value of the connection. It stars Tigmanshu Dhulia and Juhi Babbar along with newcomers Hiranya Ojha, Arhan Patel.
Das said that he took inspiration from “Janam”, facing the stigma of illegalness about a young filmmaker, to shape the female lead’s character arc in “Tu Meri Garis Kahani”.
” Janam ‘is an important source from where we have drawn Anika’s character. The purpose of giving a basic angle to my heroine and the purpose of moving forward, like her mother’s insult, she steps out, she wants to become an actress and wants to become an actress because she wants to give her mother a place in the world. Inside that house, we could not say to her life, we could not say,’
Das, who worked as a writer with Bhatt in films like “1920: Horres of the Heart” and “Hunted Ghosts of the past”, said that the experience of experienced filmmaker, “A Test of Life” also inspired him to pursue writing.
“I really didn’t know how to write. Therefore, my journey started from there and I took it on myself that this is an opportunity that life has given me and I have to live a true life, if not for anyone else, but for my children. I do not want to bring them into a bubble, or feel that they are feeling false.
Kolkata -born director said about him in films, “Like, it is his mother, his ambition, perhaps 38, is too late to start life, but she still dreams of making a start. So, I took all courage and then took one step after another,” Kolkata -born director said about her in films.
Das said that she has started working on her next film, for which she expects to cast Pooja Bhatt.
He said, “I have learned from Bhatt Saheb that cinema cannot be born without the impulse of life,” he said, adding memories of leaving his children to chase his dreams, still chasing his dreams in his heart and has decided to weave a story around it.
“I am desperate to do it with worship.
