Lunar eclipse live today: After the partial phase appeared, Skywachrs waited in their cities to witness the total lunar eclipse.
As PTINiruj Mohan Ramanujam, head of science, communication, public outreach and education (SCOPE), told the Indian Institute of Astronomy, “The Moon will be fully accepted for a period of 82 minutes from 11.01 am to 12.23 pm.”
The total lunar eclipse was visible all over Asia, as well as in Europe, Africa and parts of Western Australia. Sunday’s incident marked the longest lunar eclipse from India since 2022, and the first since July 27, 2018, which was visible from every region of the country.
India’s next approach to the total lunar eclipse will be on 31 December 2028.
Eclipse are relatively unusual because the moon’s orbit is tilted around 5 degrees relative to the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, which means that they are not with every complete or new moon.
