The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG) has taken away concerns around the use of E20 fuel in older vehicles.
The Government of India has taken away reports, claiming that ethanol-Mishrit E20 petrol causes significant damage to older vehicles. E20 petrol: fuel economy and concern around physical corrosion

MOPNG said that ethanol, being a low energy-fuel fuel than petrol, could lead to a slight decrease in the fuel economy. Physical corrosion among motorists is another concern. Many believe that E20 results in physical corrosion for old engines. MOPNG claimed that safety standards for the E20, including corrosion inhibitors and compatible fuel system materials, are well installed through BIS specifications and motor vehicle industry standards.
E20 is not quite harmful for old vehicles
