Indian stars invited to join Motion Picture Academy
Along with Kamal Haasan and Arshman Khurrana -Ariana Grande, Brandi Carlile, Andrew Watt, Branford Marsalis, Conan O’Brien, and Jimmy Kimmel are among the 534 persons, who were invited to join the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on 26 June.
The roster of new invitations has been included in other major Indian names, such as Karan Maili (Casting Director), Ranbir Das (Cinematographer), Maxima Basu (costume designer), Smriti Mundha (documentary filmmaker) and other major Indian names like filmmaker Payal Kapadia.
From the international sector, the latest class of Oscar voters includes many stars like Dave Botista, Jason Momoa, Obre Plaza, Daniel Deadwiller and Andrew Scott. Other names include Gilian Anderson, Naomi Ekki, Monica Berbaro, Jodi Comer, succession stars Kiran Kulkin and Jeremy Strong, Oscar winners Mickey Madison, Adriana Paz (Emilia Perez) and Sebastian Stan.
If all these invitations accept membership, then the total number of members in the academy (including emeritus) will be 11,120, and the number of polling members will be 10,143.

Its 19 branches and a membership classification of its membership process is conducted by sponsorship, not the application. Except for colleagues, candidates should be sponsored by two academy members of the branch or category, in which the candidate wants admission.
The membership selection process prioritize professional qualifications while maintaining the academy’s commitment to promote representation, inclusion and equity to all.
Of the 2025 invited category, 41% are women, 45% lower communities, and 55% are from 60 countries and regions outside the United States. Those who accept the invitation will be the only addition to the membership of the academy in 2025.
Oscars are ready to be on March 15, 2026. The nomination voting period will run from 12 January to 16 January. The official nominations will be announced on 22 January, followed by the annual Oscar nominee lunch on 10 February. Conan O’Brien is ready to host the Oscar.
