Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a group of development projects on Friday 5,200 crores in Siwan, Bihar, confirming the Center’s commitment to convert the state into a rich and forward -looking area.
The announcement comes beyond the November assembly elections and is being seen as a strategic move to appeal to voters through large -scale infrastructure and welfare initiative.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the projects will not only accelerate the development of the infrastructure, but will also improve the quality of life for the residents.
The major initiatives included the new Vary-Deria railway line, which was constructed at the cost of the over. 400 crores, and a new train service on the route.
He also flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Pathaliputra and Gorakhpur, which will operate through Muzaffarpur and Bettiah, which will improve rail connectivity in North Bihar.
Modi said, “Bihar will play a big role in the prosperity of the country and play a big role,” saying that the state was once rejected as backward, now ‘Make in India’ is becoming a hub for manufacturing, in which the locomotive is being exported to the guinea before the Marhovara plant.

He accused the previous regime of changing poverty in the fate of Bihar through corruption and disability. He said, “He never gave a poor access to electricity, water or housing. Even the gas connection required a recommendation,” he said, depicted a contrast with his government’s welfare outreach.
Modi announced the inauguration of six sewage treatment plants 1,800 crore under Namami Gange Program 3,000 crores.
He emphasized that these tasks were part of his government’s extensive agenda to improve the quality of life for the poor and middle classes in the urban and semi-urban centers of the state.
He laid the foundation for 500 MW battery energy storage system in 15 grid substances in cities like Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Bettiah and Siwan.
“It has become new to announce the plans just before going to a state elections. The big question is about their implementation. Many promises were also made from the 2020 assembly elections, but are all those projects actually executed?” Arvind Mohan, a political commentator in Bihar affairs, said.
In the housing area, Modi released the first installment for more than 53,600 beneficiaries of PM Avas Yojana-Uban (PMAU-U) and handed over the key of newly constructed homes to mark the ‘GRIH Pravesh’ of more than 6,600 families.
“More than 5.7 million Pucca houses have been built in Bihar under this scheme,” he said, given that many women are registered in the names, whom they had called a symbol of social progress.
He cited the World Bank data that 250 million Indians have come out of poverty in the last decade and have claimed that about 40 million people in Bihar have come out of poverty during the same period.
Praising the rule of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he said that the change of the state is a result of a coordinated attempt. “It’s not just about the figures. They are changing life,” he said.
Modi also warned against the withdrawal described as “elements of chaos and corruption”, who are now looking for a way to return to power. “They want to grab the resources of Bihar again,” he said, urged people to be vigilant.
