Arun Govil, who became a domestic name for his portrayal of Lord Rama in the Ramayana of Ramanand Sagar, is not sure that no one can pull the current star role.
Actor Arun Govil, who plays Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, is not sure whether a Bollywood star can pull this part or not. Her comments arrive after Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Edipurush, a film based on the Ramayana, which faced significant backlash and was criticized for its visual effects, dialogues. What Arun Govil said
In an interview with NDTV, Arun said, “Three-four people tried to make it again, [but] They were not successful. I do not think that in our lifetime, someone should try to make Ramayana again. As far as some actor Ram plays [is concerned]All available actors, all stars at this time – I do not think anyone is suitable. Perhaps you can find someone outside the industry. ,
Arun portrayed Lord Ram, while Deepika Chhakhiya essayed the share of Goddess Sita in the 1987 TV serial.
About the upcoming Ramayana film
For The Anward, the upcoming film on the Ramayana is one of the most anticipated films in recent times. Last year, fans received a special peak as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita as Ranbir Kapoor and Sil Pallavi as pictures were leaked from the set of the film.
During the Wave Summit 2025 last month, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis received the film’s degree and said, “I was amazed to see the quality of Ramayana that you are making. I think this is the way that we need to tell the new generation to tell their stories, and I am sure everything you are establishing will be the best in the world.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the Ramayana claims an artist contingent, which includes KGF star Yash Ravana. The film also stars Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey and Lara Dutta in great roles. It is set to release in two parts, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second part in 2027.
