New York (AP) – Scientists have unlocked one of the many mysteries of the solar system from an unexpected source: a planetary show for the public on Monday.
In the last decline in the American Museum of Natural History, experts were hard to prepare “encounters in Milky Way”, shaped the movements of a deep diver stars and other astronomical objects in a galaxy of our house.
They were correcting a view, known as Ort Cloud, which is an area beyond Pluto filled with icy residues from the formation of the solar system. Comets can move from cloud to Earth, but scientists never looked to its real size.
Looking at the Ort Cloud Scene in one evening, scientists focused on something strange on the dome of the planetarium.
“Why is there a spiral?” Jackie Faherti of the museum said.
The internal segment of the Ort Cloud made of billions of comets, our milky ways were once similar to the size of the galaxy with two wavy weapons.
Scientists had long thought that Ort Claude was shaped like a shell or flattened shell, which is pushed and stretched and pulled from other planets and Milky Way. The planetarium show indicated that a more complex shape may lie inside.
The museum contacted the researcher who provided Oort Cloud Data for the show, which was also surprised to see the spiral.
David Nesworn with the South West Research Institute said, “This is a kind of accident that actually happened.”
Realizing that they were doing something new, researchers published their findings in the astrophysical journal earlier this year.
The spiral “is a striking change in our understanding of the outer solar system,” said in an email, “planetary scientist Andre Izidoro with Rice University, who was not involved with the study.
The search is dependent on the data, how astronomical objects run and use simulation, it will be difficult to confirm with comments. But knowing more about the distant comet classes, scientists can get some clues, Izidoro said.
While placing the planetarium show together, the museum experts were not expecting a window in the internal functioning of the universe. The show, recited by actor Pedro Pascal, has several vivid scenes, which can capture the audience more than the Ort Cloud, John Parker of the museum said – including the Milky Way with Milky Way also includes the ongoing Merge of Dhanu Mini Galaxy with Milky Way.
No matter how striking and beautiful the views of the show are, the museum was committed to make it scientifically accurate. Carter Emart of the museum said that the right circumstances were created to stumble on something new.
