This temple has been built from the same tree, which Bhima brought here during the Mahabharata period. This temple is also known for its carving. Carving of its walls is made on seeing it. This temple was built during the exile of the Pandavas during the Dwapara Yuga. In this, Maa Kali is worshiped in the form of eight arms of Mahishasuramardini. This temple is built in the Kashmiri Kannauj style.
Food and water prohibition without worship
The entire Ramayana has been written in this temple. The great forms of Shiva Parvati have been shown through carving. The Mahabharata is depicted. Many incidents like Lord Buddha, fourth avatar of Shiva Parvati, Vishnu avatar, Vamana avatar, sea churning, Arjuna’s water and Abhimanyu Chakravyu have been carved under carving. According to the priest Baliram, this temple is open throughout the year. Here, priests can take water only after worshiping Maa Mrikula every day. Without worshiping the mother, they are prohibited from food or drink.

The temple says that the priest says that the khapar has been placed behind the idol of mother Mrikula in which mother Kali had assumed Mahishasura to collect and kill her. This Khapar has been kept hidden behind the idol. It is believed in the valley that people become blind by seeing this khappar. No one is allowed to see this Khapar. However, one day a year, only one priest of the temple allows the mother to see it. He goes out of the temple to this Khapar. In the evening, the worship of Khappar, the priest of Maa Mrikula Devi temple, performs the rituals of worship alone. It is washed by adding Ganga water, cow urine and saffron. Later, this khapar is taken to the place of presiding deity. Where the next day, this covered Khapar is worshiped by all the girls of the village and women of older age. Later this khapar is placed in its original place.
Can’t say this thing
Inside this temple, Bhairav and Bajrangbali are present as gatekeepers. It is believed that after worshiping in the temple, one cannot speak ‘Let’s go from here’. By saying this, these two gatekeepers also start together. Due to which people’s family may also face trouble. In such a situation, devotees are advised to leave quietly by offering prayers from here.
