National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmor welcomed the SpaceX Crew -10 team at the International Space Station (ISS) around 11:15 am on Sunday.
NASA astronaut Anne McClen and Nicole Aires, Jacksa (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) Astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Rososmos Cosmonot Kiril Peskov entered the ISS soon after opening the hatch between space station and Spacex Dragon Spacekraft.
McClane, Aires, Onishi, and Peskov were welcomed by a 72 crew, including NASA astronaut Nick Hague, Don Petit, Sun. Williams, and Buch Willmor, as well as Rososmosmos Cosmonatts Alexandr Gorbunov, Alexije Ovachinin, and Ivanar.
The hatch-opening ceremony took place a few hours after the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, which was taken to four astronauts at the ISS. Docking occurred around 9:15 am on Sunday.
Sunita Williams said it was a “amazing day” and “great to see our friends,” speaking soon after emerging at the orbital lab of her colleges.
Why is the SpaceX Crew -10 mission important?
SpaceX Crew -10 mission is important as it paves the way to the return of crew -9 and astronaut Williams and Buch Wilmor from space. Sunita and Butch have been in space for the last nine months.
NASA pair of Stareliners were vacant on Earth, without experienceing further major issues-they were left in space for nine months, which was for a day-long roundtrip.
NASA said that the crew would not return to Earth compared to a brief handover period between 10 and crew -9, Hague, Williams, Wilmor and Gorbunov, compared to Wednesday, March 19.
The US Space Agency said, “Beyond the departure of Crew -9 from the station, the mission teams will review the weather conditions on the splashdown sites on the coast of Florida.”
NASA had earlier said that the crew would return after 10 after 10.
The number of crew riding at the space station will increase to 11 people before the cruc, Williams, Wilmor and Gorbunov’s crew handover of the crew -9 members.
