New Delhi. Bajaj Auto recently launched its first CNG bike Bajaj Freedom 125 in the Indian market, which is the world’s first dual-fuel technology bike. This bike created a lot of buzz as soon as it was launched, but now a legal dispute has started regarding its name.
LML’s parent company, SG Corporate Mobility, has filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court against Bajaj Auto over the use of the name “Freedom”.
what is the matter
SG Corporate says that the name “Freedom” is part of their trademark, which was used by LML for its motorcycle LML Freedom launched in 2002. This bike was known for its strong design and performance, and even today this name is popular among the people.
The company claims that Bajaj Auto’s use of the “Freedom” name infringes its intellectual property rights, and may dilute the LML Freedom brand identity. This dispute can create problems for Bajaj Freedom CNG, because SG Corporate Mobility is fighting a legal battle claiming its rights on this name.
Company will launch new products
SG Corporate said that they had announced a partnership in 2022 with Saera Electric Auto, which previously manufactured Harley Davidson motorcycles. Under this partnership, the company is preparing to launch the electric scooter LML Star in the market soon.
