New Delhi. The government investigation agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) is preparing to return Rs 12 crore to the depositors of Rose Valley Chitfund scam. In such a situation, there is hope for Sahara investors as well. Because, after the Sahara Group went into crisis, crores of rupees of lakhs of people are stuck. However, in this case also the government is returning the money of Sahara depositors. The government is returning the refund money to the Sahara Group depositors through the CRCS portal. The central government has distributed about Rs 370 crore to more than 4.29 lakh depositors of Sahara Group’s cooperative societies through the CRCS-Sahara refund portal.

How much money do people have in Sahara
Following the order of the Supreme Court, the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal was launched on July 18, 2023 to facilitate the repayment of money to the depositors who had invested in the Sahara Group. After the launch of this portal by the central government, crores of investors of the chit fund company Sahara had a hope of getting back their trapped money. Now this hope has increased further after the victims of the Rose Valley scam got the money from the ED.
The Sahara Group had collected about 80 thousand crore rupees from more than 2.5 crore small investors from 26 states through various savings schemes. Many agencies including ED have been investigating the Sahara Group since 2008. Recently, the Central Government has distributed about 370 crore rupees to more than 4.29 lakh depositors of the Sahara Group through the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal.
The number of customers who have invested in Sahara is the highest in UP at 85 lakh. These people have invested Rs 22 thousand crores. Whereas, Bihar has 55 lakh investors and Jharkhand has 24 lakh investors. Investors have stopped getting returns in Sahara since 2017-18.
