In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr. Akshay Batra, Managing Director, Dr. Batra’s Positive Health Clinic Pvt Ltd., recommended, “Start by drinking enough water daily to maintain overall hydration, which is important for supple skin. After showering, apply a moisturizer tailored to your skin type, rich with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin. Protect your skin from UV radiation by using SPF 30 sunscreen every day to avoid sunburn and maintain skin health, even on cloudy days. Regular, gentle exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, increasing moisturizer absorption.

She further added, “Individuals should also apply homeopathy based moisturizers rich in natural ingredients like chamomile and aloe vera, which provide gentle hydration for dry and flaky summer skin. Coconut oil, shea butter, and hyaluronic acid can also replenish moisture while avoiding harsh chemicals. These treatments soothe and nourish the skin while restoring its vibrancy in the summer sun.”

Rajat Mathur, DGM, Learning Academy at The Body Shop India, suggests, “Start by using a gentle cleanser that won’t strip away natural oils, followed by a hydrating serum that contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid. Moisturizers containing nourishing ingredients like shea butter or glycerin should be applied liberally. Regular exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, preventing flaking of the skin. Hydrate your skin from the inside out by drinking plenty of water daily and including foods rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants in your diet.

She further advises, “Protect your skin from harsh environmental factors with appropriate clothing and the Skin Defense Multi-Protection Light Essence, which is ultra-lightweight and contains a moisturizing formula that protects your skin with SPF 50 PA+++ protection.” Helps protect the skin. To avoid destroying the skin’s natural oil, use lukewarm water instead of hot water. Finally, apply a rich night cream before bed to provide extra hydration while you sleep, which contains ingredients like ceramides and squalane to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier.
