Tata’s luxury vehicles are famous, more than 4 lakhs were sold in one year, the cheapest one is also priced at 68 lakhs

New Delhi. Retail sales of Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) stood at 4,31,733 units with a growth of 22 percent in the financial year ending March 2024. Tata Motors gave this information to the stock markets. During the financial year, the company’s wholesale sales increased by 25 percent to 4,01,303 units as compared to 2022-23. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) wholesale sales in the fourth quarter stood at 1,10,190 units, which is 16 percent more than the same period a year ago. The cheapest car of this company also comes at Rs 68 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Range Rover Evoque.

It was told that the UK based automaker’s wholesale sales and retail sales were higher in all regions compared to last year. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR)’s wholesale sales in the fourth quarter stood at 1,10,190 units, which is 16 percent more than a year ago.

Retail sales in the January-March quarter stood at 1,14,038 units, which is 11 percent more than FY 23. Compared to last year, retail sales in the quarter were up 32 percent in the UK, 21 percent in North America and 16 percent in overseas territories.

Retail sales in China and Europe fell by 9 percent and 2 percent respectively in the fourth quarter of FY 2013. Shares of Tata Motors closed 0.59 percent higher at Rs 1,012.95 on BSE.

Electric vehicle sales increased

Retail sales of electric vehicles have also increased in all categories during the last financial year in India. During this period, registration of all types of electric vehicles including passenger and two-wheelers increased rapidly. Vehicle dealers’ organization FADA has given this information.

Total sales of electric passenger vehicles increased by 91 percent on an annual basis to 90,996 units in 2023-24, which was 47,551 units in 2022-23. Tata Motors led the sector with registration of 64,217 units in the last financial year. This figure is 66 percent more than 38,728 units in 2022-23. On the other hand, registration of electric two-wheelers increased by 30 percent to 9.47 lakh units in 2023-24, which was 7.28 lakh units in the previous financial year. Ola Electric remained at the forefront in this category with retail sales of 3.29 lakh units. After this, TVS Motor Company stood at second place with 1.82 lakh units.
