Floyd Mayweather is in town. Which also means that you don’t hold back from pulling punches in conversation with him. The former world undisputed boxing champion is adept at having a good conversation about his experiences, his love for all things Indian and of course the secret to success as he stands on his feet in the ring!

As part of a tour in India, he stopped in Mumbai, where as part of a hectic schedule he visited various sites like the Gateway of India, Siddhivinayak Temple and other places, including visiting designer Manish Malhotra’s store in Bandra. Was also included.
The affable 47-year-old veteran, in a conversation with HT City, opens up on his professional learnings, his diet and what he thinks about Bollywood:
You have been undefeated in your boxing career. What is one secret of your success?
FM: The secret of my success is that I am always strategizing. I’m always exploring, I’m always learning. I’m confident, but I’m also calculating. I’m confident enough to know that I’m going to win because in my mind, I’ve already won; I have already won the challenge. This is mental jujitsu and that’s what I’m doing.” He adds, ”In short, it’s just knowing in my mind that I have won, telling myself that I have already won and Constantly strategizing and never losing my focus or sight on the prize. ,
It is said that you have the ability to anticipate the moves your opponent will make. How do you do that?
FM: Well, I just learn,’ I’m constantly learning. I have mastered the art of boxing. I guess that’s why I’m known as TBE (best) and I’m intuitive. I study my opponent very well. I don’t think I know it all, but I know enough to know which direction my opponent will go. And I’m fast, I’m fast on my feet, fast with my hands and it all comes through my training, the decisions I make and it comes through the time I spend constantly improving my skills. I spend.
I am a globally recognized athlete. I did this through discipline, making the right choices, and surrounding myself with the right people, and that’s how I became the best person I’ve ever been. Because I was able to focus on what was important.
What is your diet like before a fight?
FM: Training camp is training camp. And training camp is very serious. It’s all about how many calories you put into your body in a day, so my diet is very strict: it’s lean, it’s about losing weight and being in the best physical shape possible. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated and lose weight. This is also a 12-week process and during those 12 weeks, I am focused on overcoming my opponent.
Do you like Bollywood movies and who is your favorite actor?
FM: I enjoy all films. I believe Bollywood is bigger than Hollywood. I’m very familiar with it and some of the big names here. One thing that many Bollywood names have in common with me is that they are fit, they are healthy, they focus on looking good, feeling good, staying in shape and they are great brand ambassadors of Bollywood. I wouldn’t say I have one favorite actor because there are so many and they are so talented, but Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Ranveer Singh – they are all great. I would love to be involved with him in a role. Would I like to act in a Bollywood film? I am ready for any opportunity that comes my way. I know that if there is an opportunity I can succeed in it because my formula and recipe is the same for everything: If I am involved in something, I remain disciplined until I win.
You mentioned how one can never achieve success without being physically and mentally healthy. Please elaborate.
FM: It is very important for me to spread the message about wellness and health because without health and wellness physically and without being mentally fit and healthy, you will never be able to achieve success in your life. Success starts in your mind; It starts with you believing in yourself. It starts with having positive people around you. It doesn’t take much to go in the wrong direction, it’s actually very easy to do. But going in the right direction is the challenging part for most people. So it’s very important for me to tell everyone that my secret to becoming the best I have ever been and the company Jas Mathur and I have founded is all based on being healthy. Due to this one also has to stay away from poisonous things like alcohol and drugs. I’m not saying don’t drink alcohol, because we live in a world where everyone has the right to do what they want. but do; Things in moderation. It all starts with your mind. And unlimited is whatever you can possibly imagine in your mind.
Do you like Indian food?
Yes! I have eaten Indian food before and I am looking forward to it again. I’ve had a great time here so far, the people are amazing and the food is absolutely amazing. I enjoy a little bit of everything, so there wasn’t anything I didn’t find spectacular.
