Norwegian Cruise: A European cruise ship left eight people stranded on a deserted island without any essentials. The ship named Norwegian Cruise had eight passengers, including a heart patient, an elderly person as well as a pregnant woman. It is being said that a ship carrying medicines, money and food items had left him on an African island. He said that despite the request of the Coast Guard, he was not allowed to board the ship.
A Norwegian cruise ship spokesperson said the passengers had disembarked on the island on what they called a “self or private trip”. They were not in touch with us. Apart from this, he was late by more than an hour from the time of boarding. Meanwhile, an Australian couple Doug and Violeta Sanders, while narrating their ordeal to the American news New York Post, said that it was ‘the worst experience of our lives’.

Doug and Violetta Sanders said they went on a trip to the island of Sao Tome last week. During this time, he was left to his own devices after a private tour, which ended much later than expected. When he wanted to board the ship after his return, he was not allowed to board the Norwegian Dawn.
“It was the worst time of our lives,” Sandres said. We were abandoned like this in a strange country whose language we did not know, probably Portuguese and African. We did not have cash, our credit cards were not accepted there.
Assistance was received from the US Embassy in Angola for these stranded tourists. They flew from the island to the Gambia to board Norwegian Cruise in Banjul, but due to low tide in Banjul the ship could not dock there and continued towards Senegal.
Describing the experience, American couple Jill Campbell and Jay Campbell said, ‘We were eight passengers who traveled through seven different countries to reach Senegal, where the ship stopped. Now they have boarded the ship.

The woman said, ‘There may have been some rules or policies which the shipowners would have strictly followed, but they had forgotten that in the hospitality industry they work in, the safety and well-being of the customers should have been their first priority. Campbell also said that the most basic job of the ship’s crew was to protect the tourists, which they had forgotten.
Campbells also said, ‘Among the tourists who were released by the ship’s crew, several members are elderly, another is paraplegic and a woman is pregnant. One member was without heart medicine for five days and had fallen ill.
