The Maharashtra is ready to push a major skill development with the launch of the Chief Minister’s short-term job-oriented course program.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon inaugurate the online initiative, who takes an important step in the state’s efforts to prepare his youth for emerging industries and job opportunities.
The scheme declared by the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the state will train 75,000 candidates every year. From October 9, more than 2,500 batch 419 will start in government -run industrial training institutes (ITIs) and 141 government technical schools.
Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, while sharing the details, said that the program is designed to equip the youth with skills ready for the market in a short time. Talking with reporters in Mumbai, Minister Losha said, “This idea is to provide industry-relevant training and make a pool of skilled manpower. This initiative will open doors for self-employment, especially for women and rural youth,” Minister Lodha said while talking with reporters in Mumbai.
The purpose of the course is to cover both modern and traditional trades. Educational manufacturing, aerospace fittings, electric vehicles and solar energy to drone technology, artificial intelligence, cyber security and green hydrogen-the program spreads some fastest growing industries. Even the opportunities affecting unconventional regions such as social media and around the Kumbh Mela have found a place in the syllabus.
In addition, special batch is being planned for women, disabled people and candidates from remote areas. For example, in a private ITI in Latur, different students will be trained in home appliances, fashion technology and tally software. Similarly, ITI for girls in Dadar will introduce a semiconductor technician course, while the institutes in Nagpur and Amravati will start advanced welding and CNC programs.
To make the courses accessible, the state has faced fees between ₹ 1,000 per month and 5,000. Twenty -five percent of the seats will already be reserved for students enrolled in ITI, while the rest will be open to outsiders. The enrollment through the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training website (https://admission.dvet.gov.in) has been fully enrolled online.
According to Lodha, the government wants to use the existing infrastructure effectively. Classes will be held beyond regular institute hours to ensure maximum participation. He said, “The demand for skilled workers in new-ed industries is increasing every day. By offering focused training, we are giving our youth a chance to match the needs of the industry and secure permanent livelihood,” he said.
The scheme is being seen as a part of the broad vision of Maharashtra to emerge in emerging technologies and industries. With India’s renewable energy, advanced manufacturing and pushing towards digital innovation, state officials believe that these short -term courses can find the difference between traditional education and modern job requirements.
For millions of young aspirants, this initiative only represents more than training-it is a step towards employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
