Students joined IIT Madras as part of IIT4EVeryone (Anaivarukkum IIT) initiative that encourage economically weaker sections to reach higher education.
28 students from the government -run schools run by the Government of Tamil Nadu have joined IIT Madras under IIT4EVEKUKUM IIT initiative, State Education Minister Ambil Mahesh Poymoji informed on Thursday.
The move reflected the quality of education in schools run by the state and also determined the determination of the disadvantaged students to pursue higher education in a prestigious central institute.

Anaivarukkum IITM (IIT Madras for All) is an initiative to encourage economically weaker sections in society to reach higher education between the state government and the institute. It was launched by Stalin in April 2023.
