Being the most popular model in the segment, the recent update of the model has rekindled interest in the sub compact sedan segment.
While the 2024 Honda Amaze starts from 8 lakh, ex-showroom, 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire starts from 6.79 lakh, ex-showroom. 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire vs Honda Amaze: Specifications
With the update, while the Honda Amaze remains similar to the older generation model, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire on the other hand has received a significant change in terms of technical specifications. Powering the new Dezire sedan is the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z series petrol engine that is also available with the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift.
The 2024 Dzire is available with either a petrol engine or a CNG derivative of the same engine combined with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The petrol-powered variant produces 80 bhp and 112 Nm of torque, while the CNG-powered variant produces 69 bhp and 102 Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Honda Amaze continues to draw power from the 1.2-litre iVTEC petrol engine, available with a five-speed manual gearbox, while there is also a CVT. This four-cylinder engine generates maximum power of 89 bhp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 110 Nm at 4,800 rpm.
2024 Honda Amaze vs Maruti Suzuki Dezire: Price
The 2024 Honda Amaze 2024 comes in three trims – V, VX and ZX. With the new variant structure, the sedan is now more expensive than its previous model. While the starting price of the earlier version was 7.19 lakh, the new third generation model starts now 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Interestingly, it now comes with an automatic transmission at the same price as the base model 9.20 lakh. Meanwhile, the VX trim starts now The MT is priced at Rs 9.10 lakh, while the CVT version is priced at 10 lakhs. Top version, starts from ZX 9.70 lakh more for manual transmission 10.90 lakh for CVT.

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire range, on the other hand, starts from Rs 6.79 lakh for the base LXi variant Rs 1.20 lakh cheaper than the entry-level Honda Amaze. However, the variant of choice for the Amaze base variant of the Dezire will be the VXi trim level, which starts at Rs 7.79 lakh for the manual transmission option, while the AMT is priced at 8.24 lakh.
ZXi trim level price starts at While the AMT option is priced at Rs 8.89 lakh 9.34 lakh. The range-topping ZXi Plus arrives 9.69 lakhs more 10.14 lakh with AMT variant. CNG option is also available for Dezire Up to Rs 8.74 lakh more for VXi The price of ZXi is Rs 9.84 lakh.
