India has the fourth most powerful army in the world. The strength of this army is not just from weapons, but bravery and strategy take the strength of the Indian Army to the top. One of such strategies is ‘Necklace of Diamonds’, which is actually a befitting reply to China’s ‘String of Pearls’ move. Under this strategy, India has built 10 fearsome forts in the sea. On the basis of which, if India wants, it can sink everything from China’s submarines to ships in a jiffy.

To dominate the Indian Ocean, India has built its forts in countries like Seychelles, Mauritius and Oman, which are ready to shoot at pirates as soon as they see them, like protectors of the country. Apart from this, the activities happening inside the sea are also monitored through these forts.

Tri-Service Theater Command

The first impregnable fort of the Eastern Indian Ocean is in ‘Andaman and Nicobar Islands’. Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) is present here, which is India’s only tri-service theater command. Through this, the enemies of land, air and water are controlled simultaneously. These islands are located right near the world’s busiest and most important sea lanes, such as the Six-Degree Channel and the Strait of Malacca, through which a large part of the world passes! By virtue of this location, the ANC gives India the amazing power to keep an eye on every shipping traffic taking place between the Indian and Pacific Oceans and, if necessary, make it dance to its tune.

North Agalega Island (Mauritius)

India has set up radar and surveillance infrastructure on an island in Mauritius in a dangerous masterstroke that is considered the Indian Navy’s second fort, and provides explosive power to India’s ‘Necklace of Diamonds’ strategy. This base multiplies India’s ability to remotely monitor ship movements in the central Indian Ocean, and also gives India dominance over the sea routes to East Africa and the Western Indian Ocean.

Assumption Island (Seychelles)

India has built a terrifying fort on Assumption Island in Seychelles! Built in partnership between India and Seychelles, this place has Indian-developed radar and logistics facilities, which work for secret espionage in the Indian Ocean. Through this fort located in the central western Indian Ocean, India gets access to the borders of the surrounding countries.

Duqm Port (Oman)

India has built Duqm Port in Oman as a fort, which gives the Indian Navy tremendous strength in the Western Indian Ocean and Gulf region. Through Duqm, India can secure the maritime trade routes extending towards the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Oman.

Minicoy (INS Jatayu) – Lakshadweep Islands

India has built a naval base named INS Jatayu on Minicoy Island of Lakshadweep. Which strengthens its coverage on the western entrances to the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. According to a shocking report, this ultra-modern base enhances India’s strength in operations against piracy and drug smuggling. Through this, India is helped in secret monitoring of sea communication lines (SLOCs) and every threat emerging in the region and India’s dominance in the Western Ocean continues.

INS Vajrakosh

INS Vajrakosh (Vajrakosh) located on the western coast in Karwar is a missile and ammunition base for the Indian Navy. From where offensive and defensive operations are carried out in the Arabian Sea.

Porbandar (INS Sardar Patel)

By commissioning INS Sardar Patel in Gujarat, India has strengthened its iron-like grip on the western coast facing the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Kutch. This is not an ordinary base, but a powerful base which monitors the operations of ships, submarines and seaplanes. The location of this base gives India the power to keep an eye on every shipping passing through the Arabian Sea, and the most important thing is that it also stands as a protector of crude oil import routes.

Visakhapatnam (Eastern Naval Command)

Visakhapatnam is not just a port but also the home of the Eastern Naval Command (Electronic Navigational Chart) and India’s largest east coast naval base, which keeps an eagle eye on India’s entire eastern maritime boundary in the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. This base gives India the power to conduct operations directly in the eastern Indian Ocean.

Kavaratti (INS Island Guard) – Lakshadweep Islands

India has strengthened its hold in the Lakshadweep archipelago by establishing its naval base in Kavaratti. This helps India gain dominance over the Arabian Sea and major shipping routes of the world. It can also act as a spy point for India.

INS Jatayu

This dangerous base of India monitors the southern end of the country’s maritime borders. From here, shipping operations get direct connectivity to the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Maldives and other important sea routes of the region. It is considered to be a secret base giving double-power (air and sea) to India, which allows India to keep a direct eye on every movement of the enemy in the Indian Ocean region.
