Citroen India has entered the dark side with the launch of its new dark versions. The new Citroen C3, Aircross, and Basat get dark editions that bring a secret appearance in the range of the automaker. New Citroen C3 is the price of dark edition 8.38 lakhs, while Citroen Aercross Dark Edition is priced 13.13 lakhs. The new Citroen Basalt Dark Edition is priced 12.80 lakhs later. All prices are pre-showrooms. Booking for New Citroen Dark Edition is now open, and the first example of Basalt Dark Edition was given to brand ambassador MS Dhoni.
Citroen Dark Edition: What is new?
The new dark edition is based on the top-spec variant of each model and commands a premium. 19,500. With all the three models, the automaker has introduced a new all-black Perla Nera Paint plan. There are new dark chrome elements on the outer, while the bumper and door handle get gloss black finish. C3, Aircross and Basalt also get double tone alloy wheels, which bring a good contrast to the dark theme of the car.
Citroen Dark Edition: Interior
Inside, the all-black theme continues with black seats with red stitching and gloss black insert, which is on the dashboard and door pad. The seats are upholstered in the leatherrt, in which the Citroen logo is embossed on them. Instrument console is also wrapped with leather.
Citroen Dark Edition: Features
Given that the model is based on the OTP variant, the Citroen Dark Edition is all loaded with bells and CT, including a 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android auto. There is also automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMS, a 7-inch digital console, wireless charging and a multi-function steering wheel. On the safety front, three Citroen cars come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESC. There are rear parking sensors, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and more.
Citroen Dark Edition: Specification
There are no mechanical changes either with power coming from the 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine tuned for 108 bhp and 190 Nm (MT) and 205 Nm (AT). The lower variants get a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that is tuned for 81 bhp and 115 Nm. Citroen aircross and Basalt Dark Editions are introduced only with turbo petrol motor, while C3 is available with both dark edition options.
Citroen is following the choice of Tata Motors, Kia, Hyundai, Maruti and many more car manufacturers, who have brought dark/black editions in recent years. Certainly there is a growing demand for color scheme, and the latest special version should pay more attention to the limit of Citroen in India. The new offering will be available in limited numbers.
