Unidentified youths on Saturday stopped the car of West Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in his Lok Sabha constituency Baharampur and raised slogans of “go back”. Chaudhary, who is seeking re-election, hit out at the Trinamool Congress, alleging that the practice had started during last year’s civic polls.
After the incident, Chaudhary told reporters, “This is nothing but a ploy to stop me. The local TMC is behind this. They want people not to work for the Congress party. This is the same thing they said in the past. It was during the civil elections.” Year.”
He further claimed that the youths who stopped his car when he was returning home were completely ‘intoxicated’.
“They were shouting: Go back, go back!! I stopped and asked them what their complaints were. In the beginning, only one person was there, but then many others joined him. I realized that it was TMC But they will do it I will not be able to stop me like this,” he said.
Chaudhary said he informed the district superintendent of police on the matter and sought his intervention.
Meanwhile, TMC released a video in which Choudhary is seen slapping a youth. It further said, display of sheer hooliganism by Adhir R Chaudhary.

TMC has fielded former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan against Chaudhary, who has been winning from Berhampur Lok Sabha constituency since 1999.
Voting will be held in Baharampur on 13 May.
