New Delhi. Social media platform X run by Elon Musk has released its compliance report. The report says that the company has banned 184,241 accounts in India for policy violations. This data is between March 26 and April 25, 2024. Most of these accounts were promoting child sexual abuse and non-consensual nudity.
The micro-blogging platform also removed 1,303 accounts for promoting terrorism in the country. Overall, X banned 185,544 accounts during this period.
18,562 complaints from users in India
“It received 18,562 complaints from users in India in the same time frame through its grievance redressal mechanism,” X said in its monthly report on compliance with the new IT rules, 2021. Additionally, the company took action on 118 complaints that were appealing against account suspension.

The company said, “After reviewing the specifics of the situation, we reversed the suspension of 4 of these accounts. The remaining reported accounts will remain suspended. “We received 105 requests for general questions about accounts during this reporting period.”
Your account may also be banned
The majority of complaints from India were about restrictions violations (7,555), followed by hateful conduct (3,353), sensitive adult content (3,335) and abuse/harassment (2,402). If you also use X then you should keep these things in mind.
