Vinesh Phogat created history on Tuesday by entering the final round of women’s wrestling at the Paris Olympics 2024. A few months ago, the veteran Indian had to face a lot of trolling when she led a protest by wrestlers against BJP leader Brij Bhushan over sexual harassment allegations. Phogat’s achievement has drawn a massive response from opposition leaders. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking if the Prime Minister would call Phogat for her achievement.
Vinesh Phogat is sure to win a silver or gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Will the non-biological Prime Minister call her? Of course to congratulate her, but more importantly to apologise for the shameful incident when women wrestlers were protesting against the government…
