The 22-year-old took just 25 innings to reach 1000 IPL runs. Whereas Tendulkar took 31 innings to register his name in the record books. Talking about Sudarshan’s matches, the GT player played 25 matches and 21 innings, in which he scored 1034 runs at a strike rate of 139.17.
In yesterday’s match, GT also recorded the second highest team score against CSK, earlier in the 2014 season, PBKS had scored 231/4 against CSK.
Talking about CSK’s innings, apart from Derry Mitchell, Moeen Ali and MS Dhoni, no player could make an impact in the game. Due to this the team lost the match against GT by 35 runs. Openers Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra were out for 1 run each, while captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was out for 0. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (26 not out) electrified the fans with three consecutive sixes, including three in the last over, but it was a losing battle. GT bowlers played brilliantly and Mohit Sharma took 3 wickets, Rashid Khan took 2 wickets, while Umesh Yadav and Sandeep Warrier took 1 wicket each.
The win lifted GT from bottom of the table to eighth place with 10 points from 12 games. While CSK remain at the fourth position with 12 points, their net run rate has dropped from 0.700 to 0.491.
