Volkswagen Tiguan-R-Line and Golf GTI have been slated to launch in India soon.
Volkswagen India has started accepting pre-booking for its upcoming Tiguan R-line, which is slaughtered for launch in the country on 14 April. Booking for Tiguan R-line can be done through the company’s official website or Volkswagen dealership across India. Apart from this, the German auto giant has also started inviting consumer interests for golf GTI through its website. The automaker further said that golf GTI will only be sold online. Golf GTI will be launched immediately after the Tiguan R line.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line
Volkswagen comes as the performance-centered version of the Tiguan R-line SUV. 4,539 mm in length of SUV, 1,859 mm in width and 1,656 mm in width with wheelbase of 2,680 mm. It will be available in six different color options. Tiguan R-line is expected to be available in a single and fully filled version in India. In that case, it is expected that it will be powered by a 2.0-liter TS petrol engine. This engine is capable of churning 201 bhp peak power and maximum torque of 320 Nm. Transmission options for India-bound performance SUVs are not yet known.
Volkswagen Golf GTI
Volkswagen Tiguan is set to follow the R-line soon, Volkswagen Golf GTI. Expect coming to the market for some time during the end of the second quarter of 2025. The new golf GTI will arrive in India in its MK 8.5 avatar. Details such as color options, variants and pre-booking for this model are expected to be available in the coming weeks. Power to Volkswagen Golf GTI will be a 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine, which will be paired with a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission. This engine will be able to pump 269 bhp peak power and 370 Nm maximum torque. In addition, the Volkswagen Golf GTI is claimed to reach a speed of 100 kmph from a standstill position in 5.9 seconds. The top speed of this performance hatchback is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
