According to a press note from the university registrar, the Vice President, who is also the ex-officio Chancellor of Pondicherry Central University, will participate in an interaction with the students of the university at 6.45 pm as part of the ‘Vikit Bharat@2047’ initiative. Said.
The university has launched several activities under ‘Vikit Bharat@2047’ to sensitize and encourage students to participate in large numbers in formulating and presenting their ideas for this initiative, the release said . The Prime Minister had urged Vice-Chancellors and faculty members of universities across the country to play a leading role in advising students to participate in the movement.
The release also said that Pondicherry University has organized several activities including talks by eminent personalities, panel discussions, mini-marathons and workshops.
Official sources told PTI that the Vice President will be on a two-day visit to Puducherry from January 28. This is his first visit to the Union Territory after becoming the Vice President and his appointment as ex-officio Chancellor of the university. He will offer prayers at the Manakula Vinayagar temple on January 29 and will visit Chidambaram in neighboring Tamil Nadu where he will offer prayers at the famous Lord Nataraja temple.
