Kishan Lal, a resident of Jhunjhunu, tells about the significance of this stepwell. They say that water is conserved in stepwells. By taking bath with its water, leprosy is completely cured. He further says that about 40 years ago he was suffering from leprosy. He became sad due to this disease. Then his elder brother bathed him with the water of this stepwell, after which his disease was cured without any doctor’s treatment. Even before this, there was an old belief that whenever people used to come out of this place, they used to drink the water as well as take bath in it. His leprosy was cured without any medicine or doctor’s treatment.
